Quando dici le coincidenze. In treno, poco fa, riesco finalmente a trascrivere un po’ di appunti di quest’estate. Tra questi ritrovo uno stralcio preso da un libro incontrato per caso a Lisbona, al Pois Café, un bellissimo “caffé austriaco” con punto di bookcrossing.

Senonché rientro a casa e ne trovo l’autore menzionato nella newsletter del TED. Insomma: lui è Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Qui altre info, qui il suo speech. Il libro è Creativity. Questo il passaggio che mi ha colpito:

Attention is a limited resource… This is why such center of creativity as Greece in the 5th century BC, Florence in the 15th century, and Paris in 19th century tended to be places where wealth allowed individuals to learn and experiment above and beyond what was necessary for survival

It also seems true that centers of creativity tend to be at the intersection of different cultures, where beliefs, life styles and knowledge mingles and allow individuals to see new combinations of ideas with greater ease

Mi ha fatto pensare a Internet. O almeno a una certa interpretazione della Rete.

PS Letto giusto un paio di capitoli, poi detto “devo tornare per crossarlo”, che i libri per farlo ce li avevo anche. Ovviamente non più riuscito. Altre foto sul Portogallo in questo post.
